Kelly Preston, a long time Scientologist, recently sounded off on "The Doctors", blaming food poisoning, antibiotics and household cleaners for her son Jett's autism. Does she speak the truth or is she full of hot air?
In 2009, Kelly Preston's son Jett passed from a seizure, after bumping his head in a bathtub at the family's vacation home on Grand Bahama Island. Now, she is opening up about what she believes caused his autism.
During an interview on the show The Doctor's, Kelly revealed that she and her husband, John Travolta, believe that harmful chemicals in our environment and certain foods contributed to Jett's condition.
She also recalled having food poisoning while five months pregnant with Jett, various antibiotics in her system, a "fast and hard labor"-all were "contributing factors" to her son becoming autistic.
Kelly has two children with John Travolta and says she works hard to limit the amount of chemicals her son Benjamin 2, and daughter Ella 12, are exposed to on a daily basis.
Travolta, took the stand in the a 2009 extortion case and acknowledged that their son suffered seizures every 5 to 10 days. Prior to his death, many critics claimed the Travolta family hid their son's autism and refused traditional medicine because of their belief in Scientology.
Every day we are learning the effects that environmental toxins have on pregnant women and children. Do you think there is a connection? As a mother, do you sympathize with Kelly or do you think she is misinformed?
