Facing yet again another relationship on the rocks, with another little one due for delivery in just under 3 months, I decided to take a look back at my relationship history. What was I doing wrong? Am I the problem? Is my picker off? Seriously… what the hell is the deal?

After taking 3 long years off post my divorce to get my mind right, I thought that I had everything under control. “No one will ever play me again,” I would say to myself. Unfortunately, nothing is set in stone, people only show you what they want you to see, and sometimes no matter how hard we try, we seem to repeat the same mistakes! My problem, is that I am addicted to “bad boys.” You know, the black Adonis who is overly confident, at times cocky, and for many, can get whatever they want. But why?

Well, let me tell you…

1. Bad boys are confident.

I call this the Adonis Syndrome. They have a cavalier attitude with everything they do, from brushing their teeth in the morning, to asking the bartender for a Hennessy and coke. Women find this trait irresistible.

2. Bad boys are indifferent.

Along with all that confidence, comes a ton of attitude. Their indifference makes it easy to move from one woman to the next, when met with resistance from the opposite sex.

3. Bad boys are uber masculine.

There’s something super sexy about a man who can take control. Bad boys know how to get what they want and still find a way to treat you like a lady.

4. Bad boys are challenging and mysterious.

Contrary to the popular belief that women like men whom they can manipulate and control, women like a challenge. The mystery of what’s next always keeps the good girl coming back for more.

5. Bad boys are exciting and adventurous.

Bad boys love to take a walk on the wild side and are practically fearless. This trait basically goes hand in hand with confidence and masculinity. When combined, it sends us into a tizzy!

6. Bad boys know how to make a woman feel powerful.

So what is more attractive than the illusion that we are in control? Well, nothing! Feeling powerful in a relationship is tres sexy.

7. Bad boys know how to talk to women.

Bad boys know how to talk to a woman. Confidence followed up with indifference, sprinkled with a little bit of mystery, intrigue and excitement is just the bait. Conversational skills keep a woman interested and wanting more.

Well ladies, you are not alone and we, well I will overcome this epidemic, if it is the last thing I do (after a few sessions with the local shrink, that is).
