It has been said that sharing is caring, but for many women, giving their husband access to “the girls” while they are breastfeeding is a flat out no go.

Breastfeeding is hard enough as it is. After all, you’re literally sustaining your child’s life by providing nourishment for them. That’s deep.  And that is already a task within itself. I couldn’t image having to give “the girls” something else to do. I don’t know what it was, but while I was breastfeeding my kids, I had a hard time accepting that “the girls” could be used for pleasure. They became sacred. They were only to be used for my baby. That’s it, that’s all. If I could have packed them away in a suitcase and whipped them out only when I needed to feed my children, then that would have been perfectly fine with me.

For many women, breastfeeding is a painful time. Breasts can often become engorged, and some women even experience infections of the tissues within the breast, known as mastitis. Don’t even get me starting on the leaking. Not only do you have to feed your baby, but you have to wear what I like to call “boobie diapers” in between feeding to ensure you don’t leak through you shirt. For me, that was much too much.
