Whatever happened to quality black tv shows. It’s like we went back in time. What happened to the progress. Black shows sitcoms where wide appeal and were watched across the world.

I was having this same conversation just yesterday. None of the broadcast networks have all black sitcoms anymore. All we have are those tired Tyler Perry shows on TBS, ratchet reality shows on VH1and The Game! The 90s were truly the Golden Age of Black Sitcoms.

I use to love it when Stefan came out honey he was so cute to me as a little girl. Oh man there were some good black sitcoms back in the day. Now all white America wants is black men to be portrayed as gay and black women to be sleeping with white men or be a ghetto neck rolling house wife/baby moma.
CAN WE FORGET ABOUT WHAT EVERYONE ELSE SAYS START A FAMILY VALUES MOVEMENT AND BLACK AND CLASSY MOVEMENT…

    P.S.
Alot of our brothers and sisters are well educated and family orientated can somebody portray us because we do exist?

And to let y’all know Jewish people in entertainment all come together once or twice a year to figure out how their community will be portrayed in entertainment and around the world. Maybe Oprah, Tyler Perry, Russell Simmons, Spike Lee, John Singleton, Al Sharpton, Farrakhan, black actors, musicians, movie directors and writers need to come together once a year to stand firm ground on how our community will be portrayed because we are educated, family orientated, have morals, talents, and class but if a person outside our community watched T.V. they would never know. I do blame white people for this but our own is now doing us harm by poor representation.

LOL@Tyler Perry and Spike Lee in a room together. I bet Madea would come out and the cameras wouldn’t even be rolling

    James and Florida Evans!

I thought I was the only one that recognize they were not on the list. Good Times is one of the most powerful black shows every aired. It represents black struggle but most of all it represents real black love (James & Florida) and sisterhood (Willona & Florida). What I loved most about Good Times is the men were men, James was uneducated but still took care of his family, never let anyone walk on his family and through it all they were happy.

Can anyone name a black TV couple from a drama series? You find them in comedies where there is always a lot of clowning, but name a serious show with a strong black couple.
