Still Sitting On The Couch – With Zumba, Yoga, and Insanity on the Scene?

There should be no excuse for keeping on unwanted pounds with the extensive variety of exercise options out there these days.

First there was Tae Bo, next came P90X, soon to follow were the likes of hot Yoga, cold Yoga, Pilates, Kettlebells, Zumba, Pole Dancing, and Shaun T’s Insanity Workout…..need I say more?!

I don’t know about you but the whirlwind of exercise fads over the past ten years have left me exhausted. Funny, my exhaustion is not from the choreographed moves, but simply from trying to decide WHAT to do!

Ultimately, I think I ended up somewhere between sitting on the couch eating Doritos and catching a movie (popcorn included) to get my mind off of it all.

Having been a college athlete (toot, toot), my body and muscles do remember what it’s like to exercise, but I was in need of a realistic workout regimen that I could stick to. I decided to start with basic cardio.

Getting your heart rate UP is the best thing that you can do in general for good health, coupled with avoiding fatty foods and sugary sweet items. I have found that keeping it basic worked best for me to reestablish a work out base.

Now it’s time to tone, wish me luck!!

MommyNoire Community, where do you fall on the royal exercise chart:

Cardio Queen – A must if you plan to shed pounds in this lifetime.

Water Princess – Swimming is one of the best workouts you can give your body, not to mention it’s very forgiving on joints, muscles, and bones.

Cycling Countess – Another exercise that avoids some of the pounding you get with running while still getting your heart rate up, up, and away.

Duchess of Yoga – Center your mind, body, and soul by adding this to your regimen.
