They say:
“Necessity is the mother of invention”
It’s true. And in this economy you may find yourself reaching plateaus in your life, and then having to reinvent the old you – like Madonna. I can definitely relate! I have owned a party planning business, waited on private parties at an upscale Italian Restaurant, walked out the back door of a not so upscale seafood spot, and seriously considered nursing school. After all the adventures I finally settled down into what I do best, writing.
With that said…are you still trying to decide what you want to be when you grow up?
It’s alright if you have not found your ideal career, and are still searching for where you belong. I know first hand that having to pay bills and support yourself and family can slowly smother that flame that burns within. But you have to fight to keep it burning! Lose sleep, friends, and small parts of your mind if you must, but if there is a business inside of you, start it! Put on your Superwoman Cape.
Go to the bookstore and keep your mind filled with all things that point to your passion. If Erin Brockovich can become a self taught lawyer, you can surely start your own company. Determine what you do best and then outline who and what resources you have at your disposal.
The most important thing is to start!
